Brought back by Tyler Palmer and adopted by Tex Haines, this is one of the classic shapes equivalent to surfing’s fish shapes that are currently in a comeback. Shorter length for turnability, wider middle and tail increases the planing surface for distance, and a swallow tail provides control in the turns. It works for me.
